Greetings!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  It's that time of year when our social schedule heats up and our Real Esate schedule cools down.  Make the most of this time and get yourself prepared for a busy 2012.  The worst thing we can do as Realtors is take the holidays off.  Otherwise, it will be a long, cold, dark, broke winter.  This month we will talk about ways to set yourself up for prosperity in 2012.

Lisa's Corner

In the old days, Realtors used to take the holidays off.  Those days are long gone, thanks to a changing market and the internet.  Even if your clients are not keeping you out there turning keys, Realtors need to take advantage of this time to prospect for early 2012.  We found some great articles on the subject and have outlined key suggestions below.  Whether you are a new Realtor or a veteran, these pointers are easy and will bring you success:

Our number one piece of golden advice for the holiday season is - Don't break the momentum of prospecting for new clients.  Got a lead?  Call it.

From Matthew Ferrara & Company:

  • Prepare your clients - Do not stop communicating with your clients and let them know how you can help them to leverage their success in the real estate seasons;
  • Prospect by Season's Greetings - All holiday observances are actually prospecting opportunities for Realtors;
  • Make investments early - Use the tax calendar to your advantage to get a jump start in investments;
  • Show up! - While your competition is shopping or caroling, be the one who is answering the phone and returning e-mails.

The Los Angeles Times reported on Realtors who work Thanksgiving weekend (or any holiday or long weekend) to accommodate clients who have extra free time with nothing better to do than look at houses.

Like us on Facebook and tell us how you are setting yourself up for success this holiday season.

We are looking forward to beginning a long and prosperous relationship.

Sincerely,

Lisa Johnson
