For those of you who enjoy a glass of wine, you may want to partake in the upcoming Winnipeg Wine Festival. This is the eighth year that the Festival will raise funds for Special Olympics Manitoba. With over 1 million dollars raised to date, Special Olympics Manitoba has been able to increase their grassroots programming base while maintaining the quality of training required to compete on both the National and International stages. http://www.winnipegwinefestival.com/about.html

We are always on the lookout for new products that we can showcase to our clients. This month, we have found re-usable bags from Winnipeg company b.b.begonia. Beautiful, sturdy (can hold 40lb.s) and reusable - what more could you ask for? We've also added some new soaps from North Country Soaps - Lemon Sage - a wonderful lemony, gardeny smelling soap, Kiwi Melon - nice & fruity, think summer and Lavender Oatmeal - a soothing soap for dry skin. Our shipment of Upper Canada Soap products has arrived. Look for new additions to our baby baskets and special products for kids in June.

As we move into spring and enjoy getting out in our yards, I can't help but think about the families that have been displaced by this years flood. It could be weeks before they get back to their houses and then many will be faced with the huge undertaking of cleaning up the debris left behind. Farmers and market gardeners will be affected by a late planting and those that had damage to homes will have a long wait to find out the end result. Our thoughts are with you.

Remember to support local business and local producers - we all benefit. Enjoy the sun!

Sincerely,

Carla Dayholos
