Reception for Legislators
January, 2011 - Austin, TX

 The Texas Federation of Asian American Chambers of Commerce (TFAACC) honored our own GDAACC past Chair Representative Angie Chen Button and Representative Hubert Vo of Houston on January 26  at the State Capitol. GDAACC chapter was represented by Chairman Michael Lee, Chair-elect Barkat Ali,  TFAACC past chair Anant Jain, and President Gal Jumaoas. 

 

The event was well attended by many of their colleagues including; Speaker Joe Straus, Chairpersons Rob Orr, Vicki Truit, Larry Taylor, Mark Strama, Jim Keffer and Allan Ritter, Senators Leticia Van de Putte and Jeff Wentworth, Representatives Tim Kleinschmidt, John Frullo, Robert Alonzo, David Simpson, Joe Farias, Jim Murphy, Tyrone Lewis, Donna Howard, Diane Patrick, Linda Harper Brown, Boris Miles, Byron Cook, Alma Allen, Scott Hochberg, Raphael Anchia, Armando Walle, Harold Dutton and Ana Hernandez Luna.

Additionally, many TFAACC members and Texas Asian business leaders were on hand to talk about their agenda for the 82nd Legislation.  The agenda featured many items including strengthening small business programs for Texas and supporting the Asian American Studies Center at the University of Texas.

MEED Center Announcements
 
 
Business Assistance Center (BAC) Incubator Program is now OPEN.

The MEED Center is one of the City of Dallas's Business Assistance Center locations. The objective of the program is to promote entrepreneurship by providing neighborhood business services and opportunities for business ownership, economic development and job growth. 

We are currently accepting incubators for our BAC office. Low-to-moderate income individuals who operate micro-enterprise are eligible to participate in this BAC Incubator Program. Anyone interested should contact MEED Center at 972-241-8250.
