The sun and the moon do a slow-dance together this week as Autumn Equinox and the Harvest Moon magically coincide. Autumn Equinox - when the sun's position provides day and night of equal length - rarely occurs within 24 hours of a full moon. This week, only six hours separate the two: Autumn arrived last night at 8 p.m., and the moon achieved fullness at 2 a.m. this morning, Sept. 23.

Phoenix Goddess Temple will commemorate this celestial miracle with a Full Moon Celebration starting at 6 p.m. today. Our Temple transformation chambers will be open as your Personal Pleasure Palace for Equinox-inspired lovers until midnight.

Fall Equinox and Full Moon don't get closer than this. The last time they met within even ten hours was 1993, and you'll have to wait until 2029 for them to pair up again.

That means tonight's Full Moon Celebration will be shot through with extra energy. Full moon is always a moment of heightened ecstasy and peak exuberance. Add to this the energy of harvest, a time of fulfillment and completion. If you set intentions at the last New Moon, now is the time to reap the results like a harvest of psychic crops.

The last Full Moon found us dancing almost sky-clad to Apollo's DJ tunes, celebrating The Goddess and communion with the Oracles. We burned our desires in a cauldron of Love in a ceremony led by Mystic Sister Gypsy, Rev. Jimmy and Tracy Elise. We called upon the Oracle to reveal more truth, love and beauty. Goddess Carmen got us all to boogie. Mystic Sister Tracy and her handsome man turned the classroom into a dance floor and tore it up all night long. Several new seekers wandered through, amazed at the revelry. Goddess Devi Ma and Panda were uninhibited in tribal dancing; fueled by Full Moon madness, we inexhaustibly sweated our prayers.
