by Kent Nerburn
Paperback
List Price: $15.00

Non-Indian theologian and editor Nerburn attempts to "bridge the gap between the world into which I had been born and the world of a people I had grown to know and love" by narrating the fascinating toils and truths of Dan, a 78-year-old Lakota man.

Please note:  there is some harsh language, and this is not necessarily written from a "Christian" perspective.  But it does give you a unique look at the experience and perspective of many Natives in North America.

Greetings!

When I think of experiments, I more often think about science...not church.  Not sure why that is.

But in a meeting yesterday with Native Ministry leaders in South Dakota, I learned of several experiments they're trying in order to reach Lakota people for Christ.

They're using many different outreaches, events, services, small group settings, etc., in different ways.  And over the summer, God broke down walls, opened eyes and hearts, and gave hope to hundreds of people!

He Sapa New Life Church in Rapid City is bursting at the seams in its building, and may soon add a second weekend service.  The church's influence stretches to the Pine Ridge, Rosebud, and Cheyenne River Reservations and beyond.

And it is in the process of launching new Native churches in Eagle Butte and Pierre, SD.  Our old church buildings in these locations are in need of serious updating and repairs, which will cost about $60,000.

If you haven't given in a while, or have never given to WNAM, would you consider helping with these needs?  You can even donate online, safely and securely!

But please remember, your gift is not an investment in buildings, but in Native people who will be reached through these churches for years to come.

In Christ,

Rich Avery
