"Christianity has wonderful answers to questions Indians aren't
asking!" Craig Stephen Smith, a Chippewa, from northern Minnesota,
seeks to answer the questions they are asking or ought to ask. His
experience has led him to believe that change is desperately needed in
both Native and church communities. Smith writes out of his own
experience as a Native American growing up in a white man's world.

Hello , This week, millions of Americans will give thanks for the blessings God has bestowed upon them in the last year. Here at WNAM, we too give thanks for how God has blessed us with your faithful prayer and financial support. Thank you for your investment in our ministry and in multiplying Native believers, leaders and churches all across North America. Happy Thanksgiving! Rich Avery Director |
Wisconsin Church Impacts Local Rez
| | Rev. Mark O. Wilson of Hayward Wesleyan Church (Hayward, WI) knew that some members of his church were having an impact at the nearby Indian reservation. But he had no idea how much...until he invited them all to dinner last week to meet with WNAM's director, Rich Avery.
Unfortunately, due to a death in the family, Rich wasn't able to travel to Hayward as planned. But Pastor Mark held the meeting anyway, and 37 people showed up.
"They were all people who were connected with Hayward Wesleyan Church and who served the Rez (home to the Lac Court Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa)," Mark said.
"They were missionaries, jail ministers, teachers, professors at the tribal college, the tribal pharmacist, the tribal funeral director, the director of the halfway house, van drivers, our mentoring director, members of our missions committee - it was quite amazing! We realized that our church - through these dear people - touches literally hundreds of Native American lives every week. It blew us all away."
We celebrate the influence and favor that God has given Hayward Wesleyan Church with their local tribe. And we ask you to join with the church in praying for God's continued guidance as they consider next steps for partnership and ministry.

Legacy Gifts Keep on Giving
|
|
During her lifetime, Doris McGee of Fayette, IA, was a faithful supporter of Wesleyan Native American Ministries.
Over the years, she and her husband made several trips to South Dakota, bringing clothing and other items that were collected through the Wesleyan Church in Fayette to benefit children in our schools and people in need.
Doris went to be with the Lord recently and, through her death, found another way to support WNAM. She asked that memorial gifts be made in her honor to help us raise up the next generation of Native leaders.
We're grateful for Doris and many others who, through both their life and death, leave a legacy that lives on long after they're gone.
You too can leave a legacy through WNAM and help us multiply Native believers, leaders and churches! To learn how we can help you with estate planning, wills, trusts and estates, please call 616.583.0097.

Christmas Giving Opportunities
| | Several of our Native churches are planning special Christmas outreaches to reach and bless people in their communities. You can help by donating new or gently used clothes, toys, school supplies, hats, gloves, personal care items, etc.
Many times, due to shipping costs, donations of cash are more practical and will be used to purchase the above-mentioned items in the local community. To learn how you can help, contact us at 616.583.0097 or rich@wnam.org. Or click here to donate online.
