If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.

Visioning for Your Relationship
An important step in the journey toward a conscious marriage/relationship is the creation of a shared vision of your relationship. A shared vision is essential to a successful relationship. It provides direction and can help you to focus your energy and efforts on a goal. Without a vision, your relationship can seem empty and your attempts to replenish it chaotic and aimless. A vision is a view of the whole that influences the relationship of the parts. A vision gives direction to each decision and shapes each action. Standing shoulder to shoulder gazing out at the horizon with a joint vision is a powerful way to begin the new year.
Cat and I have been using the Relationship Visioning process for the past 16 years and have found it incredibly helpful. We wrote our initial vision in 1994 and revise it on an annual basis. That vision helps us set goals, make plans, and accomplish the things that are most important to us in our relationship.
During Cat's Cancer Journey this past year, we developed a 6 month vision to guide us through this difficult time. After Cat completed her treatments, we created another 6 month vision to guide us as we moved forward from this ordeal and reclaimed our lives.
As you begin this new year take time to create a vision of your relationship and where you would like it to be some day. We will be hosting a Relationship Visioning Event on Saturday, January 9 at our loft and invite you to join us. Whether you are able to join us or not, we hope you will make time to create a vision of your relationship and what you would like to have in it. Remember to dream big! |
