Greetings!

Thank you to all our supporters that organised events in their communities in May and June--making this summer one of the busiest ever! Your church gate collections and sponsored events will help us continue to fund research and provide a professional counselling service for people with visual impairments and their families.

We are working very hard in the Fighting Blindness office to organise a great series of events in the next few months, including our October AGM in a new location, the Gresham Hotel, Dublin 1. Watch this space for more information on the AGM programme in the coming months.

TCD Research Profiled in Irish Times

Board Election for Fighting Blindness General Manager

Avril Daly Avril Daly was recently elected to the board of the European Patients' Forum. The EPF represents patients and advocates for better quality healthcare at the European level. This is a significant appointment that will allow the voice of our members to be heard in the EU.

Mini Marathon Mavens

Mini Marathon 2010 participants just before the race Our wonderful group of 70 women braved the rain on the June Bank Holiday, raising over €6,000 so far. We're still receiving final amounts from our stellar fundraisers. Don't forget to lodge your funds ladies! Read more...

Transylvania Trekkers Return

Trekkers in the Bucegi Mountains of Transylvania Thank you to our 16 trekkers that made the trip so enjoyable, and thanks to Dracula for not making a surprise appearance!

For the past 10 years Mary Aylward has travelled the world and helped raise thousands of Euros for Fighting Blindness. She's a fundraising powerhouse with some great advice to share with people just beginning to start their trekking adventure.
