Fighting Blindness Newsletter - December 2008

Greetings!
Patrick Quinn CEO

Fighting Blindness scientists have made significant strides forward this year in their quest for cures for blindness.

Thanks to your support we have opened our Fighting Blindness Vision Research Institute at Dublin City University, funded a breakthrough in gene therapy which helped restore a young man's sight, and provided funding for our team at Trinity which plans to begin human clinical trials in two years' time.

We have also provided counselling help to more and more Irish families affected by sight loss.

But world-class research doesn't come cheap. In these difficult economic times, I would like to ask that this Christmas you will bring hope to people losing their sight and sign up for a gift of €5 a month, or whatever you can afford, to enable us to continue our vital quest for cures next year.

It just takes a few minutes to register online.

I would like to wish you and yours a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.

Thank you
as always for your interest and support.
