Dear Friends and Family,

Summer is coming to a close, which for some means the last barbecue for the season.

Scooter and TimMake sure to pay special attention to your pets around the barbecue grill so they don't accidentally burn themselves or knock over the grill.

Also, make sure you thoroughly clean your grill after each use. The aroma and left over food particles can attract wildlife to your home. There have been several stories in the news this summer of raccoons, coyotes and bears being attracted to an open barbecue site.

States Considering New Legislation
to Require Convicted Animal Abusers to be Registered

As reported in Parade recently, there is a bill before the California legislature that would require adults convicted of felony animal abuse to register with local law enforcement. Tennessee, Louisiana, and New York are also considering animal-abuse registries.
