Newsletter from Tim Link of Wagging Tales
Volume 1 Issue 4
September/October 2008
Photo Shoot Headshot Dear Friends and Family,

I decided to change the design of the newsletter to represent individual types of animals. So, look for different animals to appear on the top banner in the months to come.

I'm excited to announce that my new book, Wagging Tales: Every Animal Has a Tale, will be out soon.

I'm planning on doing book signings at various locations. We're in the process of formulating the plans right now. The dates, times and locations, as well as where you can purchase the book, will be posted on the 'Book Information' page of my web site as this information becomes available. I will also include this information in the upcoming newsletters and separate announcements as these events are scheduled. I hope to see you at one of the book signings!

Please also check my web site's 'Upcoming Events and News' page for the latest schedule of events....and call in to the radio and internet radio shows if you are available. It's free and your pet may have something to say to you!

So, if you have a profile on Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Tagged, Self Growth, Conscious Living Space, LinkedIn, Author Nation or Sta.rtup.biz, be sure and connect with me on these sites.

Also, three clips from the TV shows that I have been on (and that gave me permission to use their clips) have been posted to You Tube. Thank you, Chali! If you want to view the clips on You Tube, just key in "Tim Link, Animal Communicator" and they should all appear.

What Good Pet Food Should Contain
Pet FoodA veterinarian here in my hometown of Cumming Georgia, Dr. Tracy Land,  recently created a list of good pet food brands and what ingredients should not be in the food you feed your pet.
She based her research on many of the commercially available pet foods. What she found was that the few good foods out there have the following qualities:
1. Human grade ingredients.
2. No rendered proteins (the source of most meat by-products and almost all meal).
3. No meat 'meals' or meat 'by-products'. The ingredient should say 'chicken' not 'chicken meal' or 'chicken by-products'.
4. No artificial or chemical preservatives or dyes. Commonly used chemical preservatives in dry pet food include propylene glycol, ethoxyquin, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). These preservatives have been linked to cancer, seizures, kidney failure and death. Instead, natural preservatives such as tocopherols can be used.
The brands of food that she recommends based on her research are:
1. Wellness
®
2. Old Mother Hubbard
®
3. Merrick
®
4. Solid Gold
®
5. Blue Buffalo
®
6. Natural Balance
®
There are other brands out there that are also very good. I use Wysong
® with my dogs. So, do your research and if you decide to switch foods, do it gradually by mixing the new food with the old food over several days until the old food is completely phased out. If you switch from one food to another without phasing out the original food, it could upset your pet's digestive system and cause loose stool.
Recalled Pet Food Alert
Black Lab PuppyOn a very sad note, my nephew's family just lost three of their dogs (momma and two puppies) due to a tainted bag of dog food.
Believe it or not, the recalled pet food list is still active and has been expanded to include not only dog and cat food but also bird food, ferret food, rat food and fish food.
For a current list of the recalled pet foods, please click on this link:

I look forward to hearing from you all soon. Until next time, please remember that
"Every Animal Has A Tale®".

Namasté,
