From the Folks Who Brought You the Weekend
Happy Labor Day!

Greetings!

Labor Day weekend is here and it's time to take a well-earned break! We proudly salute all the working men and women over the years who made taking a vacation - and the weekend, the 8-hour day, family leave, Medicare, safer workplaces, overtime and more - even possible. It's worth remembering the words of Martin Luther King, Jr: "The Labor Movement was the principal force that transformed misery and despair into hope and progress."

In honor of ALL who work hard to support themselves and their families, Labor 411 would like to invite you to our second Hug A Worker Day. Go to our Facebook page and join in on the event that will surely put a smile on someone's face as we spread the gratitude for a job well done.

Also, summer is winding down and school has started, but that also means football season is here! Try out our latest recipe, Union 7-Layer Dip, that will surely be a hit at the next game.

                                                            In solidarity,

                                                            Labor 411

P.S. Tomorrow is your last chance to enter the August Raffle - a $230 bad boy Weber Grill

Quote of the Week
"Our labor unions are not narrow, self-seeking groups. They have raised wages, shortened hours, and provided supplemental benefits. Through collective bargaining and grievance procedures, they have brought justice and democracy to the shop floor."
