Union Valentine's Day Greetings! We're barely into the new year and already there's good news for the American workforce. Over 240,000 jobs were added in the month of January and manufacturing is leading the way. Chrysler reported amazing sales numbers for the first quarter, President Obama pumped up the increase in manufacturing in his State of the Union and the industry is expanding at its fastest pace since June. We've lost our fear of a second recession and the talk now is of a speedy recovery.

How have unions changed your life? I'm a librarian. As a member, unions have certainly made a difference in my life. I have a good job, collective bargaining rights, a good wage and a pension, and benefits that allow me to have a decent quality of life.
