Dear ,
Celebrating the Chinese New Year in your classroom? Studying China or Latin America? Looking for a means to interact in a meaningful way with classes overseas? Read below for an exciting new -- and free -- global education opportunity.
OneWorld Classrooms has recently launched the first module of our brand new Student to Student Language Lab. (To access this link, you need to enter your username and password, listed below in the left-hand column.) The inaugural module features students from a fourth grade class at the Qingzhuhu Foreign Language School in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Under the guidance of teacher Fu Chi Jing, the students teach a unit of Chinese to their foreign peers through a series of audio, video and flashcard art files. The students also introduce themselves in English, present a PowerPoint tour of their school and, along the way, share aspects of Chinese culture and modern lifestyle. (The audio and video files include English transcripts and the audio and flashcards include Chinese characters and pinyin.)

We welcome all K-12 classes to use the Lab, which we will expand throughout the spring with new modules in Spanish, English and Chinese featuring K-12 classrooms from around the world.
We also welcome all K-12 teachers to contribute content featuring students sharing their first language, which we will post in future Lab modules. Participation is FREE for all classes. Interested teachers may send an Email to lab@oneworldclassrooms.org for more information and content contribution guidelines. (While the Lab will initially feature Spanish, English and Chinese modules, we welcome contributions in any world language!)
We hope you and your class will participate!
Please see below for other OneWorld Classroom online resources focusing on China.
Gong he xin xi! Happy Chinese New Year!
