Greetings,
We are just two weeks away from our Christmas in the Valley outreach event! Keep praying that God will soften the hearts of all our guests so they will come receptive to the Good News message that our speaker, Jane Rubietta, will deliver.
See Ticket Information in the left column for latest update.
In "What's New", learn about the beautiful hand embroidered items for purchase. In "Hostess Hints," read about the follow-up opportunities for guests who wish to know more about faith in Jesus Christ. Be sure to read Terrie's story about how Christmas in the Valley has opened up avenues for "God talk" with her friends and family.
Sincerely, The Christmas in the Valley Team Valley Community Baptist Church

Widow's Friend will be in the Library again this year!
Widow's Friend is a part of Friends of Bangladesh ministry that was started in the 70's by Faith Willard. Faith answered God's call to help the poorest of the poor. The ministry includes two medical clinics, an orphanage, a K-12 school, a hostel for young women, a school for the deaf and the Widow's Center. The center teaches widows the Bangladeshi art form of hand-stitching on silk or cotton. While at the center, the women also receive Bible and literacy training in Bengali. The pieces they produce include scripture texts and frameable art, as well as banners, table runners, Christmas tree skirts, pillows, and vests. The woman who stitched the piece gets one hundred percent of the price of the item: half in cash, and half in services. This enables her to keep her family together. Stop by the tables and enjoy the beauty of their work. All pieces are available for purchase. |

Hostess Hints
Terrie tells a story of how Christmas in the Valley has opened up avenues for "God talk" with her friends and family. We pray that you will have a similar story to share next year after you and your friends have attended.
If your friend is interested in "going deeper" after the event, we will give you tools to help them take their first steps of faith. There are several opportunities at Valley for new believers and spiritual seekers to explore.
- The Gift of Christmas Come back the next week on December 12 or 14 with your friend to enjoy a most amazing Christmas musical extravaganza which relates the whole gospel message in an unforgettable performance that the whole family will enjoy. Tickets are available online.
- Alpha Invite her to the Alpha Course at Valley starting January 29. Alpha is a 12-week program for seekers, new believers and even seasoned church attendees to become rooted in the foundations of faith. Each evening begins with dinner and conversation followed by a topical video and small group discussion. It's a warm and friendly environment in which someone can ask any spiritual questions.
- Bible Study/Courses Check out the mid-week Courses and Bible studies to see if there is one your friend might want to attend.
- Discipleship Go through the one-to-one growth material with your friend. Email Heather James, Valley Women Coordinator, for more information.
- Worship Invite her to attend a worship service and/or an Adult Community at Valley on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Note: If you have a Christmas in the Valley story to tell, email us at hjames@valleycommunity.cc! |
