Whether it be ideas for a mantel design over your fireplace, preparing decor for your holiday table or embellishing outdoor window boxes, our demonstrator will show you how and have fun in the process.
Hostess Hints

Are you unsure of asking a friend to join you at Christmas in the Valley? Are you thinking that she will feel uncomfortable coming to a church event? Read how Lisa-Brit overcomes these fears and invites friends in such a way that they feel special and honored to be asked.

Don't forget to pray for God to move in the lives of your friends. Here are some ideas about how to ask for God to move powerfully on behalf of you and your guests on the day you attend!
  • Pray for your guest throughout the day.
  • If possible, plan to pick her up and drive together. Even conversations before or after the event can be significant opportunities to listen and demonstrate love to your friend(s).
  • If you are unable to drive together arrange to meet her at the door early, so you can talk beforehand and introduce her to your other friends. Since we will be serving a sit down meal this year, it will be best to have your whole group arrive at the same time so that you can be seated at the same table.
  • Pray that God will speak to her heart through the message , communicating His love and truth to her.
  • Enjoy the evening yourself, but always be considerate of her needs. Ensure that she feels listened to, valued and comfortable.
  • At some point the message of salvation will be shared. If she responds to this message, celebrate with her. If she does not, keep the doors of communication open and continue to demonstrate your love for her. Take advantage of additional opportunities for her to hear the Good News message.
Note: If you have a Christmas in the Valley story to tell, email us at hjames@valleycommunity.cc!
Work Session Update

Ask a guest to a Work Session!

Ask your guests if they would like to accompany you to a work session and help with preparations for the event. This can be a great way for them to see the church building, meet the Christmas in the Valley team and other Valley women. The work sessions are not only a wonderful way to help but also a fun opportunity to make new friends in the church! LIght refreshments served.

The next sessions will be:
Monday, November 3,  7 - 9 p.m.
Tuesday, November 4, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Room 305

Please note: Babysitting is available on Tuesday mornings by registering your child one week in advance with Karen Dauphinee at kdauphinee@valleycommunity.cc.
