Hostess Hints
Are you unsure of asking a friend to join you at Christmas in the Valley? Are you thinking that she will feel uncomfortable coming to a church event? Read how Lisa-Brit overcomes these fears and invites friends in such a way that they feel special and honored to be asked.
Don't forget to pray for God to move in the lives of your friends. Here are some ideas about how to ask for God to move powerfully on behalf of you and your guests on the day you attend!
- Pray for your guest throughout the day.
- If possible, plan to pick her up and drive together. Even conversations before or after the event can be significant opportunities to listen and demonstrate love to your friend(s).
- If you are unable to drive together arrange to meet her at the door early, so you can talk beforehand and introduce her to your other friends. Since we will be serving a sit down meal this year, it will be best to have your whole group arrive at the same time so that you can be seated at the same table.
- Pray that God will speak to her heart through the message , communicating His love and truth to her.
- Enjoy the evening yourself, but always be considerate of her needs. Ensure that she feels listened to, valued and comfortable.
- At some point the message of salvation will be shared. If she responds to this message, celebrate with her. If she does not, keep the doors of communication open and continue to demonstrate your love for her. Take advantage of additional opportunities for her to hear the Good News message.
