ENDYMION PARTY!!
endymion route

This Saturday (21st February) we have an ALL DAY Endymion Party courtesy of James and Robert at 4531 Orleans Ave (or 4530 St Ann). The parade starts at 4.30pm, the bands begin at 11.00am and due to parking and the crowds many people will arrive early (as in morning!) and make a day of it. There is food and a good viewing platform provided, and ALL are welcome....

mardigrasmask

I love looking back over old newsletters and seeing not just how the church has developed but how I have grown with it!  This time last year our newsletter read like a Church of England proclamation! It was however interesting to note that our attendance this time last year (the last Sunday before Mardi Gras) was around 15, last Sunday we had 44, still strongly affected by parades and parties but much, much better!!
Coming up next month we have a whole host of opportunities to grow and develop. Lent is often a time for reflection, well, why not make it a time for action, and this lent commit to joining our 'experiencing God' course, or transform your financial position with 'Financial Peace University' - or if time is very pressing perhaps our book discussion group would work. A good definition of madness is repeating the same strategies again and again and expecting different outcomes. If our faith lives and physical lives are perfect then change nothing - if they are open to development then commit to something DIFFERENT!
First and foremost, church and faith are dynamic forces, if they merely reinforce our comfort zones then they are probably bogus - God is challenging and leads us onwards and upwards not in a comfortable rut. I look forward to breaking out with you all after Mardi Gras!

COOKBOOK

Oysters Rockafeller

We still need a whole bunch of recipes for our upcoming cookbook - if anyone has any, or knows anyone who has, then pressure (sorry, ask) them to send them to Adam at  timidooso1@aol.com They can be local, foreign, regional or or variations on the above! I cannot believe that New Orleans, and the hundreds of folk this email goes out to cannot come up with some really good recipes!! You do not have to be a church goer to submit.
