77 people!!
second line
I know numbers are not everything, but they certainly point to good things when they have shot up as dramatically as ours have over the last year! Last Sunday's service was a wonderful, joyful celebration - ending with a second line band leading us from church, round Willow street and into our fellowship room (pictured) for a feast! As we are in Mardi Gras season, I was uncertain as to the response we could expect to 'Invite a friend Sunday' as many of our folks are bogged down with balls, parade preparations and serious partying! I should not have worried - there have not been 77 people at an MCC service in New Orleans in decades. We have been averaging 50 to 60 in attendance for the last month or two, so it was a blessing to be able to go into parade season on a high point. God is working a powerful miracle of transformation and inspiration here in New Orleans - let us all get behind it and support it with our time, faithfulness and talent!

Many many thanks to all who labored so hard to make Sunday a success (and indeed do so every week) - from service planning to music to food; and also Trent, James and Garrett who are working so hard to present a comprehensive program of events and education opportunities over the coming months!
