IHSS Consumer Conference Call: The Future of In-Home Supportive Services |
On Wednesday, March 9th, the Personal Assistance Services Council (PASC) will be hosting an IHSS Consumer Conference Call to discuss the cuts and changes to the IHSS Program proposed in January by Governor Brown, including updates and information on additional proposals made by the state senate and assembly. The conference call will be moderated by Deborah Doctor, Legislative Advocate for Disability Rights California. Governor Brown's proposals include:
- Reduce IHSS service hours by 8.4%
- Eliminate IHSS hours for domestic and related services in shared households
- Require a medical certification for IHSS eligibility
- Eliminate the mandate and funding for IHSS advisory committees
- Reduce and/or cut other programs utilized by IHSS consumers, including SSI/SSP, ADHC, MSSP and Medi-Cal
