Greetings!

Welcome to our first-ever E-Pearls edition ~ a monthly e-mail update designed to "keep you in the know" about everything COU.  Our latest Pearls of Hope annual newsletter received such great reviews that we wanted to bring you even more stories, news of recent and upcoming projects and events, as well as ways to get involved.

30 New Primary Recruits

Moses Mbuga has been completely transformed.  He is just one of 30 new elementary-aged children who joined our Sabina Primary School at the start of this year.

Moses' ailing mother, who suffers from HIV, is responsible for the care of 5 children.  As a result, Moses has been unable to attend school.

Thanks to his new sponsor, Moses now has the opportunity to achieve a brighter future for himself and his family through education.

Wishing on a Star...

This past winter, we came to you with a wish list that our Ugandan Program Director, Margaret Kasekende, put together on behalf of our children, teachers and staff.   We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated ~ you are truly a shining star to our kids.

As you can see, our primary kids especially love their new pink raincoats!

In Their Own Words

Our students write letters to their sponsors at the end of each school term (3 in total), sharing their stories, hopes and dreams:

"Thank you for the necklace you sent me.  Every time I wear it I feel beautiful"
