Book of the Month

 Divergent by Veronica Roth

In a not too distant future, Beatrice Prior lives as an Abnegnation. Selfless, thinking of nothing but others, she's allowed to look in the mirror only twice a year for hair cuts. She was born into her family's faction, but in her heart, she has always felt like she doesn't belong.
Luckily for Beatrice, upon turning sixteen, she will be tested to reveal her true aptitude and allowed to switch to one of the other factions: Candor, Dauntless, Erudite, and Amity. These factions were created after a horrible war, with each group believing that they are pursuing the complete antithesis of the evil that brought their world down.
There are some people, however, who do not fit into any mold. Beatrice's test reveals that she is one of them - a Divergent - and her results are a dangerous secret she can't even share with her family. Divergents are hunted down and killed. Hiding herself as a Dauntless pledge might work for a while, but then the new "Trice" discovers a deadly secret, which reveals that evil is not as far in the past as everyone thought.
This thought-provoking, action-packed dystopic thriller will leave you wanting more (there is a sequel!) and wondering - where would you belong?
