Hello :

Javelina Horror Story: Leslie Bush is one of our long time clients who kindly gave me permission to relate her recent experience with some aggressive javelinas with the hope that it will be of benefit.

Last Wednesday Leslie was finishing her early morning jog when two javelinas started chasing her. Screaming didn't deter them so she changed course but to no avail as the pursuit continued. The javelinas caught up then one of them knocked Leslie to the ground with a powerful tusk strike to her thigh and as she was prone on the ground the other began head butting her. During this attack another eight to ten javelinas gathered around but fortunately were not aggressive.

Some how Leslie found the strength to get up and run towards a home but was unable to shake the attacking javelinas as they continued their pursuit. Upon reaching the nearest home's front door Leslie rang the doorbell and screamed for someone to open it while the javelinas continuing their vicious head butting.

Finally a woman opened the door to let Leslie in and her nightmare was over. She notified the Health Department and was taken to their emergency room for examination and treatment. The Health Department determined that the javelin was rabid and treated her for bruises, abrasions, a nasty puncture wound to her calf, and began a series of rabies shots.

Leslie is very fortunate not to have suffered more significant injuries from these feral animals. Remember, while javelinas are docile they can still attack without provocation so always be alert when they're in your vicinity.

Crickets: These pesky critters are everywhere this summer because our unusual heat and humidity have whetted their appetites for breeding that has resulted in a population explosion. Found inside and outside of the home - call us for a re-treat at no charge.

Scorpions: Yeah - I know you're tired of hearing about scorpions, but please remember that there's an abundance of them this time of year so be alert and call us if you have any issues with these nasty fellas.

true passion is competitive off road motorcycle racing. This year your old bug guy wound up in first place in the 50 + Expert Class in the Arizona Motorcycle Racing Association's off road championship event that consists of 11 grueling races held throughout Arizona during the year. Each race averages 3 hours and covers 90 - 100 miles over rugged desert terrain, mountains, and narrow, winding trails that aren't even fit for hiking. I'm particularly proud of this accomplishment because the competition consisted of former professional racers.
