Hello :

The Season of the Witch: As the rocker Donovan said in his big hit years ago, "it's so strange". Don't know about you but I can't make heads or tails of our recent weather - and I've noticed that the weather mavens on TV are having the same difficulty. Sure hate to admit it but the dramatic variations in the climate even make scorpion predictions tough for the old bug pro.

The mild temperatures and rain that preceded the recent freeze were harbingers of an early breeding season with general activity increasing due to plants blooming. The plants attract all sorts of bugs and the scorpions aren't particular as to which ones they eat. As an expert on scorpions I honestly don't know how this crazy weather will affect the way these rascals behave in the weeks ahead.

Kill Zone™: I do know this, however:  either it will be business as usual with our ornery little creatures or there will be an abundance of them during the breeding season that begins in May. Needless to say I'll keep you posted. Regardless, I encourage you to use our effective Kill Zone™ service for scorpions - yeah, I know, but it sure works.

Interestingly, we have several new clients who hired us because of serious scorpion problems their ex-pest control services couldn't handle. Yup, you guessed it - they got word about our scorpion expertise and are happy campers now.

Rodents: We're being swamped with calls about rodents from clients who aren't using our bait box service. Their presence in large numbers this time of year is unusual - perhaps the weather again.  Regardless, please be alert as they can put a nasty owie on you and that means a tetanus shot because of their propensity to carry rabies along with who knows what other diseases. They're also very destructive and will gnaw through everything in sight including:

·      Furniture

·      Pool, garden and bar-b-que gas hoses

·      Wiring of every sort - one of their favorite targets

Some ominous signs to be aware of are unusual droppings, craggy looking nests that have suddenly appeared, strange noises in your attic that you know aren't ghosts.

Bait Box Service: I hope you aren't having trouble with these fellas, but if so don't hesitate to call us. You should also consider using our monthly bait box service described below:

·      Provide bait boxes

·      Replenish the bait

There is a quarterly charge for this service and the amount depends on your property so call me to discuss specifics.

That's if for February.

Your business is appreciated and will never be taken for granted.

Sincerely,

Bret
