MOST HOLDS OST POLICY CONFERENCE CALL 
Join us, Monday December 12, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a policy conference call on ESEA Reauthorization, Waivers and the implications for OST programs in Maryland. We have been driving around the state and everywhere we go we hear about the challenges everyone is facing. However,  we also hear amazing stories about what OST programs are achieving. We want to share your success stories at the Leadership Summit, to provide inspiration for us all.  Please send a brief description of the success, a picture, and most importantly - tell us how the success was achieved! youth at eventJoin Baltimore's Ultimate Bakesale to support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry and MLK Day of Service. The AmeriCorps VISTAs of Safe & Sound, Maryland Out of School Time Network, Montgomery County Collaboration Council, & Boys and Girls Club of Harford County  will be hosting four bake sale sites throughout Baltimore City. We are recruiting about 24 volunteers and will finalize the evening with America's Sunday Supper (to be held on January 16th). The proceeds from this event will help alleviate the plight of childhood hunger in America, all monies going to No Kid Hungry. To sign up as a volunteer please contact Kirby Allen.

Forum for Youth Investment: Ready Thoughts: Read Karen Pittman's Essay: Caution: Expanded Learning Time ≠ Expanded Learning and tegister for the December 8th webinar on Waiver 11. Waiver 11 gives states the option to use funds from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) to support expanded learning opportunities during the school day.

The Harvard Family Research Project is seeking OST programs to pilot their upcoming evaluation guide. They are looking for program directors who are either in the beginning stages of planning an evaluation, or already in the process of conducting one. If you think that Afterschool Evaluation 101 could help inform your evaluation, and you are willing to provide feedback on your experience using it, they invite you to apply to become one of our pilot organizations. Apply online by December 20, 2011: Click here to apply online.  Selected organizations will receive a small stipend for their participation.
