Greetings!
Scattered across the Tuscan countryside are wonderful estates called frattorias or wine producing farms with red clay tile roofs, the color of the rich soil in this northern part of Italy. The walls are smooth stucco and colored with the local earth. Tuscany is known for it's light, thus attracting artists, sculptors, and painters throughout the centuries. Thus came the inspiration for Villa Firenze. Entering the front doors, hand forged in the old manner, you are welcomed by a carpet of hand cut mosaics made in Tunisia. Above this is a mouth blown Venetian glass chandelier made in Murano, that took about a month to produce. The kitchen cabinetry is patterned after kitchen cabinets found in Sicily. The hand painted vanity cabinet in the guest bathroom is patterned after furniture in the Pitti Palace museum in Florence. The list goes on. The objective of creating this residence was to make a home, not a museum, to invite the memory of Italy as you view the house and wander the gardens, but also to invite a lifestyle befitting the 21st century.
