Leonard Mizerek, Perceptions of Light
Leonard Mizerek was recently selected as one of 70 members of the prestigious Guild of Boston Artists. He was awarded a Fellowship in The American Society of Marine Artists (ASMA) — the highest honor bestowed, and he was one of only 23. Mizerek is also a Signature Artist Member of the New England Watercolor Society, Connecticut Watercolor Society, Northeast Watercolor Society and the International Society of Marine Painters. Recently, Leonard was elected to the New England Plein Air Painters. He is a long-time resident of Westport, CT.
Mizerek paints mostly maritime subjects because of the way the water reflects the sky, coast and the weather. Mizerek is well known for his ability to capture the subtle textures and unique moments of differing natural light. Mizerek says, "I enjoy looking for the hidden colors in natural light. I often look at the sky or at reflections in the water, and see how my perception of color changes from day to day."
We cordially invite you to "Perceptions of Light" featuring the landscape and seascape oils of Leonard Mizerek. The exhibit runs from the first week of November through November 30, 2011. Admission is free and paintings are available for acquisition. Geary Gallery is open to the public Wednesday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at 576 Boston Post Road, Darien, CT 06820. Visit our website at www.gearygallery.com for more information or call (203) 655-6633.
