John Reilly, Spontaneous Studies in Oil

Rootbeer & Three FriesPrior to picking up a paint brush in 1985, John Reilly ran a successful mid-town Manhattan advertising agency by the age of 23. Once he devoted himself to painting, Reilly channeled the same focus, creativity and energy that drove his success in advertising into his artwork.

Born in Brooklyn and a resident of Califon, New Jersey, Reilly studied painting in New York City at the Art Student’s League, the National Academy of Design with Sam Adoquei and privately with Burt Silverman and Everett Raymond Kinstler. In New Jersey, he attended the Newark School of Fine Art.

Reilly describes his paintings as "spontaneous studies done in oil." He uses varied subjects — from bankers to belly dancers — to express his passion for variety and spontaneity. He blends sensitive brushwork with bold, vibrant colors to capture the unique visual essence of his subjects.

His artwork has been exhibited at the Nabisco Gallery, Audubon Artist’s at the Salmagundi Club and the National Academy of Design. He has also done one person shows at the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, the Watchung Arts Center, the Robert Wood Johnson Children’s Specialized Hospital and the Clarence Dillon Public Library. His work was also featured in Peapack Gladstone Bank’s 2009 calendar.

Liron Sissman, Portraits of a Universal Nature

Fall Moonrise, Liron SissmanAccording to Liron Sissman, every painting is a self portrait of a universal nature. She does not paint people — instead, her subject is nature and the world we live in — images which viewers of diverse backgrounds can relate to. Like her flower paintings, Sissman’s landscapes are not just to reflect nature but rather to project an inner reflection, a metaphorical journey. Sissman admires the intense emotions found in the works of the Expressionists. Like them, she mixes her soul with her paints.

Sissman’s paintings have won multiple awards, have been written about extensively and appear in more than 100 private collections from New York to California. Her work was famously featured in the movie "Something Borrowed" starring Kate Hudson.

Liron Sissman is a Fellow of The American Artists Professional League. Her biography is listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Art and Who’s Who of American Women. She is also the founder of www.ArtistAdvisory.com, a website that promotes emerging visual artists.
