Featured Artist, August
Gail Beutel
Gail Beutel has been painting professionally for more than 38 years and has sold approximately 1800 paintings. Beutel creates mainly in oils and gouache, and many of her impressionistic pieces feature peaceful landscapes.
The Greenwich Times wrote about a recent exhibit, "The painter’s fully loaded brush gives a lively texture to the canvas. The subjects are those peaceful things we love: children, flowers in pots and vases, masses of field flowers, tree patterns, birds in flight, beach scenes, farmlands, old wicker chairs, favorite hats and character studies. The colors are whites, blues, pinks, peaches, and green; the tone in high key."
The mother of four children, Gail Beutel has traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and Asia, from which she gathers inspiration for her paintings. Among the many distinguished owners of Gail Beutel’s paintings is her Royal Majesty, Queen Sirikit of Thailand, who owns four of her paintings.
