The Geary Gallery Guide, August 2010 Issue We hope you’re having a wonderful summer! In this issue, we announce the gallery’s featured artists, perfect for the season: Leonard Mizerek’s Expressions of Light and Life, and Land, Sea and Color of Jim Grabowski. We hope you enjoy learning more about these renowned Connecticut artists, and welcome you to stop in to view the exhibits which run now through the end of August. On a personal note, we’d also like to thank our friends and neighbors for supporting the Second Annual Click it for Cassie Softball Tournament, that took place in June. It was a wonderful success, and the contributions to the Click for Cassie Foundation help us in our goal to raise awareness of the lives that wearing seat belts can save. For more information about the foundation and the event, visit www.clickitforcassie.com. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we hope to see you at the Gallery soon! Sincerely, Anne & Tom Geary |

Stop in to get out of the heat and enjoy a visit to the Geary Gallery this month where Westport resident Leonard Mizerek’s works will be on display until the end of August. His exhibit “Expressions of Light and Life” awaken themes of seascapes and slices of life as he derives inspiration by painting on-site at nearby coastal locations, as well as places of interest throughout the world. Well known for his luminous use of light, and his colorful, expressive brushwork, his paintings have earned him many honors, including being one of only 70 elected members of the prestigious Guild of Boston Artists. He was also awarded the highest honor of Fellowship in The American Society of Marine Artists as one of only 26 artists. Leonard Mizerek grew up in Delaware and has been a Westport resident for more than 30 years. His lifetime of work has earned him numerous additional honors and his paintings are featured in museums throughout the U.S. and in France. Read more about Leonard Mizerek in his bio, and view his works at Geary’s online gallery.
Don’t miss Jim Grabowski’s expansive impressionistic landscapes inspired by the countryside near his Marlborough, CT home, and seascapes that are influenced by the summer breezes of the New England sound shore. With a fresh breath of color and light, his works evoke the power and motion of nature—perfect for Fairfield County art-lovers to enjoy throughout the summer months.
