LA Bike Plan Extension on Comment Period
Update

In response to comments issued by bicycling advocates, organizations and blogs throughout LA demanding that the public comment period be extended to January 8th, we received an official email from Jane Blumenfeld stating that they would be receiving comments until the hearing which will be held in January. We requested a specific date, which they were unable to grant us. We will be holding the City accountable to the January extension period.
To view email and additional details go to LACBC blog.
LACBC Bike Plan Action and Comments
LACBC has been attending the Bike Plan meetings held by the City to gather input from the community.
4 meetings have been held so far: San Pedro, South LA, Van Nuys, and in West LA.
To read about some highlights and impressions from LACBC staff/board visit LACBC blog.
---------------------------------------------------------
Due to the overwhelming dismay and frustration in the LA Bike Plan by cyclists, we have initiated a meeting with LADOT General Manager, Rita Robinson, LA City Planning Deputy Director, Jane Blumenfeld, Deputy Mayor for the Environment David Freeman, and Deputy Mayor for Transportation Jaime de la Vega and LA City Mayor staff to meet with us to discuss some of the suggestions and comments that would make this plan more acceptable by cyclists.
The city continues to show a lack of commitment in creating a cohesive Bikeway network in LA and if many of the cyclists' comments are not incorporated, this plan will not meet the needs of cyclists.

We need to see more commitment and get some guarantees from our elected officials!
