Scot Nery at work
We at AMP are astonished at the magnitude of our good fortune. We again have Scot Nery, the incredibly talented, fresh, and uninhibited award-winning comedian, juggler, and contortionist, holding down the house as MC and lead performer. Robin Williams calls Scot "splendidly surreal!," and Brooks and Dunn hail Scot as "probably the greatest entertainer in America today." Our good fortune is your good fortune. Come early, leave late, and see as much of Scot Nery as you possibly can. You probably won't be sorry, and you definitely won't forget it.

"Anyone who says different probably hasn't ever witnessed Scot Nery live onstage in any of his hysterically weird incarnations: pancake juggler, backpack escape artist, cooking show host, etc." -- San Francisco Weekly

Nathalie Broizat standing
AMP is thrilled to again feature Nathalie Broizat live in performance. Broizat is a French Performance Artist, Actress and Choreographer, CMA (Certified Movement Analyst). She studied as a Fulbright grantee at the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies and she performed around the US and France in venues such as MOCA, Highways Performance Space, and Espace DbD. She works with Rachel Rosenthal on a regular basis.

Broizat and fellow performer Ariadna Rodriguez (see just below) will be premiering a piece about Barack Obama.

Ariadna Rodriguez
Los Angeles-based Ariadna Rodriguez is a Musician, Dancer and Performance Artist from Barcelona, and has performed widely in the US, Europe, and Cuba. A former Fulbright Grantee, Rodriguez graduated from the Berklee College of Music and Boston's School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Her multidisciplinary works involve music/sound, improvisational movement and video. She collaborates with artists from different disciplines, creating Soundscapes using her violin and Sound design, and is a member of the Rachel Rosenthal Company 'TOHUBOHU' and the 'Body Weather Laboratory' directed by Oguri.

Paul Plagens
Paul Plagens is a proudly old-school songwriter with a sophisticated, wise, sometimes dark and often slyly humorous lyrical bent. Former lead singer, songwriter and dress wearing frontman of the band Greta (whose tenure included a big record deal with Mercury Records, a publishing deal with EMI/Virgin, and two very memorable Beavis and Butthead episodes, as well as tours with Motorhead, X, and Catherine Wheel, among others), Paul adds to his solidly classic musical influences a very distinctive and unique perspective based on a life lived intensely, with pain and beauty equally represented.
April Ferris Wheel
Avant-Garde Performance Artist April Hava Shenkman has studied & performed theatre internationally, including a post grad acting degree from The Guildford School of Acting in England, and performance at The International Theatre Festival in Mostar, Bosnia. Rave reviews for her self-produced ensemble show, "April Fools Pig!" at Hollywood's Theatre Asylum included:
L.A. Splash Review: "Shenkman created, directed and performed amazingly in "April Fools Pig" with style and seeming ease, a feat to be greatly admired."
Comedy Central Insider: "April performs a cabaret vaudeville routine that is mesmerizing."
The Abe Lincoln Story
The Abe Lincoln Story are a "big band" from Los Angeles. They play a style of music they like to call "Soul Punk Swing." Think Louis Prima fronting Booker T. playing Clash songs...
Aaron Drake and 10
10 is the hybrid brainchild of the new global society. 10 is interested in digital property rights, appropriation, and new developments in social pressures caused by the networking of techno-savvy identities.
Random Patterns icon
Random Patterns was born out of curiosity. Its LA-based members tamper with the pop & experimental realm using keyboards, drums, saxophone, sampler and vocals with the goal of making fun music out of old instruments with a new sound. Random Patterns wants its audience to dance as much as they want them to think.
Lucas Gonze
Lucas "Soup Greens" Gonze plays 19th century American pop, songs rescued from the dustbin of history like "Rough on Rats" -- an 1883 jingle for rat poison -- and "Dodworth's Five Step" -- a waltz in 5/4 for the dance crazed in the 1850s. Lucas promised me he'd wear a good hat. Watch for it.
Ed Jor-El Elkin
Ed Jor-El Elkin is an actor, poet, singer, psychotherapist, father, adventurer, evolutionary agent and a lover of life who enjoys his multi-role, multi cultural connections as he re-explores Southern California after 18 years of life on Maui. Ed is now living with a Shamanic Performance Troupe in Escondido and thrilled to share the art form of performance poetry with you with many blessings and much love.
Howard Seth Cohen
Howard Seth Cohen is the good kind of performance artist. He won't make you think too hard...until it's too late. Don't miss pieces from his new show, LOUNGE SINGER. He goes on at 9:45.

DJs Cinnamon Twist and Mighty Eye
Cinnamon Twist has been throwing parties for quite a long time now. He has very eclectic taste, ranging from obscure 60's psychedelia to 80's synth pop and 90's ambient. Mighty Eye has been collecting Dub and Electronica since 1980, and has been DJing in the LA area for 10 years.

Bella Land
Bella is a multi-media artist who moves between the visual and aural realms. Painting, drawing and writing poetry since childhood, she also studied piano, wood wind, ballet and singing. The arts were her passion. A lifelong lover of music of all kinds, Bella's own musical voice and urge to express is a recent exploration. She is interested in the relationship between consciousness and sound, word and resonance especially insofar as it can enliven, heal or inspire.

Also look for spoken word from Mick Farren and violin performance from Steve Fegely.

See you Saturday night. Bring friends. And forward this invitation.

Yours,

Terri having a moment
