Ways to Connect
Dear Friends and AMP Members,
fallowthedreams

As surprising as our growth in September was, October's was even more exciting! Not only are we at very nearly 1700 members in 55 countries - we're also putting together AMP events, applying for non-profit 501(c)3 status, and developing some exciting new programs and ventures! While we go through the process of applying for non-profit 501(c)3 status, we've been fiscally sponsored by Epic Arts, an excellent established arts non-profit foundation in Berkeley, CA! (Thanks to AMP Member Bekka for the connection!) We even have T-Shirts for sale now (order T-Shirts at http://www.pluginamp.com/shopwithamp!.html). Right now, it's hard to imagine how things could get any more exciting, interesting, and expansive, but they definitely will..

raab
AMP Member Baerbel, an experimental animator in Munich, asked me last month if it wasn't nearly as good as traveling myself when AMP Members visited me in Los Angeles. It is. It's a thrill meeting with, and connecting, people from all over the world. In just the last month, I've met with AMP Members Freddy, a tour booker from Kasterlee, Belgium; Jessica Joyce, a fashion designer from Amsterdam, Netherlands; the entire band missFlag from Jerusalem, Israel; Jazmin Ferrari, a gallery owner here in Los Angeles; and of course the many Los Angeles members I see on a regular basis. It really does feel like the world coming to my door, and it's great. I'll be looking for more ways for us to connect in the coming weeks and months, and your suggestions are always welcome!

Why not bring the world a little bit closer to your door too? Plug in to AMP and say hello to our new members in the countries of Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Iceland, Lithuania, Moldova, Nigeria, Romania, Tanzania, Uruguay - and the states of Delaware, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Rhode Island in the USA. All are new to AMP in the last month!

This month, we're very pleased to not only feature AMP Members missFlag as Member of the Month, but also to welcome them to Los Angeles. Don't miss our first AMP Member event! missFlag is coming all the way from Jerusalem, Israel to play at the Cat Club on the Sunset Strip. This is their first show in Los Angeles, and they're very excited! Gipsy Kings producer Guy Erez is producing their first album, and you can hear some of their songs on their website. With a sound reminiscent of Coldplay, they're an excellent group of musicians poised for great things.

AMP Member Bekka from Oakland, CA opens the show, playing solo with her guitar and keyboard. In July, Bekka used AMP to book her successful European tour, and she'd love to meet some Los Angeles AMP Members. Come on down and introduce yourself! Tuesday, November 7th @ The Cat Club 8911 W. Sunset Blvd. (Cross Street: North San Vicente Blvd.) West Hollywood, CA 90069-1811 (310) 657-0888 11:00 pm

A great way to connect with the AMP community is to show us who you are - that is, post a blog or post some art. The AMP Member art in this newsletter is, in order of appearance: Pierre Francillon's "Balancing the Bael," sredare's "Fallow the Dreams," humagul's "raab," and Justin Thyme's "The Ego Shows Its Dumb, Clever Face." All of these and many more can be found in AMP's galleries, and all members can, of course, be found through AMP. Prefer your images moving? Go to AMP Member Christina's website - http://www.dg-c.org/projects.htm - and watch the video for "Green Birth" (be sure to turn it up for the soundtrack). Or perhaps you'd like to listen to the soundpoints on sound artist (and AMP Member) Dave Dubline's website. My favorite is #5, Belfast Cathedral. Close your eyes and you're almost there.

I can't wait to see what happens next with AMP. One thing is for sure - it's growing rapidly, in membership base, scope, and plans for the future. What would you like to see happen? Why not put your plans into action? Send me - or another AMP Member - an email. Start a project or plan an event with AMP. Show us who you are, and watch the creative potential expand. "Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country." (Anais Nin)

Kindest regards,
