Arting Around...
Me

Dear AMP Member, what's it like in your corner of the world? Tell the international AMP artists' community about your latest pursuits in your blog - and look to see what others have been doing as well. Did you see the AMP home page's face lift at the beginning of the month? Now AMP newsletters have a new look too! Read on for new postings on AMP, our featured member, AMP art, and more. Visit the AMP website to post some art, upload some songs, write a forum, and write some blogs, and you might be an upcoming featured member yourself.

Aaron at work
Every week, new items show up in AMP's forums and blogs, the latest of which can be found on the right side of AMP's home page. Recent postings include a forum on the Balenfestival in Enschede, Netherlands; a lead on etsy.com, a place to sell your handmade art items; a call for New York City artists to play themselves in a TV pilot; calls for artists for exhibits in Odense, Denmark and Berlin, Germany; and a call for participation in a survey on alternative sensuality (read: kinky sex).

A special call goes out to assess AMP Member interest in participation in house performance events in your own area. Check out AMP's home page and post a comment under "AMP HOUSE PERFORMANCE EVENTS" to show your interest. You can post your own forums and blogs by going to the menu, on the left side of AMP's home page, and clicking "Post Content."

Karen
Karen's is this month's featured member in AMP. Several pieces of Karen's art are posted on AMP's front page, including the headline piece, "tunnel at night." Karen has this to say about her work: "My drawings, paintings and objects consist of lines. The lines are put down in one time. This way capricious work comes into being which defies meaning. In my paintings woven substances with a pattern are used for foundation. As a result, contrast becomes apparent between the spontaneous and the machine-manufactured. I occupy myself with space and composition. Space in composition and composition in space. As the lines appear, it is hardly important what happens in reality. Passionately forgetting the world around me and creating my own world, pure and surprising. Experience the lines and let them titillate you."

For more of Karen's art, have a look at her website.

Tunnel
Karen's "tunnel at night" was taken from a moving taxi. For more contributions from AMP Members, look at "AMP Art and More," and you'll find photographs, paintings, performance photos, drawings and illustrations, and more.

Post your own creations by clicking "Post Content" in the menu on AMP's home page. You can also upload MP3s and images to your blog entries (to blog you also click "Post Content"). AMP Members and visitors alike - sometimes hundreds daily - can access your work this way, so show us what you've been doing!

If you haven't already done so, everyone would love it if you'd post an image in your profile! And if your profile's brief, tell us more about yourself. Post your performances, gallery openings, and other events, as well as any calls you find for art and artists. The newest 10 entries in both the forums and blogs always show up on AMP's front page. We're looking forward to your contributions. Until next time...

Cheers from Los Angeles, California,
