Greetings!

Welcome to the latest issue of the Creative Calm newsletter. I trust this finds you feeling like the world is your oyster and if not give me a call at (732) 714-7040 as soon as possible-if not sooner!

The main column this month regarding the Hypno-Swing Club is alas, nothing off color or tawdry. Rats! Instead we will be considering an ancient and still viable self-help tool, the pendulum.

And since I am celebrating yet another trip around the sun this month (a.k.a. my birthday) you will get a chance to download a complimentary copy of my latest e-book "The Pendulum Project- Become a Hypno-Swinger and Free Your Mind!"

This month I am reviewing a really great read that will be of interest to those involved with the natural healing arts either as a practitioner or a recipient.

Finally, find out how to register for the April meeting of the Greater NJ Chapter of the National Guild of Hypnotists, are wonderful opportunity for professional growth for those involved with the natural healing arts.

To many the pendulum evokes images of occult or supernatural practices. However a pendulum is actually an amplifier of subtle physical signals originating in your subconscious mind.

These signals are often referred to as an ideomotor response.
Hypnotists are fascinated by the subconscious mind, believing it to be the source of most of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

One of the most intriguing uses of the pendulum is that it can enable you question your subconscious mind with less interference from the conscious self.

The conscious mind is analytical and insists on making rationalizations (excuses) for our actions and decisions that are consistent with pre-existing beliefs, even when they are faulty.

The basic technique of using a pendulum is quite simple.

Begin by drawing a crosshairs design (cross within a circle) on a piece of paper.
Hold the chain or string between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand and let the weighted end dangle over your drawing. Make sure your elbow supported by the table or arm of the chair. Relax.

While holding the pendulum still imagine it going towards and away from you, following the vertical line of the cross.  Eventually the pendulum will begin to pick up on your thoughts and begin to move seemingly on its own.

Once you have accomplished that, mentally trace the horizontal line and the pendulum should begin moving to side to side. Follow that with observing circular part of the drawing and see if the pendulum starts to follow that.

When you can get the pendulum to follow the motion of your thoughts you can then designate given movements the value of a yes, no or don't know response.

If you would like to learn more about the use of the pendulum then you will want to download a complimentary copy of my latest e-book "The Pendulum Project" which will teach more about this self-help tool.
Visit the Pendulum Page to learn more.

P.S. There is an affordable Pendulum Kit you can purchase there too.

Book Review-Living Low Carb

Over the years I have seen quite a number of clients in both the group and private session format who are looking to get into their ideal size, shape and condition.

A hypnotist like myself can help you with the motivational and stress reduction end of things, but what about specific dietary plans?

Generally speaking, a certified hypnosis professional does not prescribe a specific eating regimen unless otherwise qualified to do so.

However, I have come across a resource that can point you in the right direction.

Jonny Bowden Ph.D. , a former editor at Men's Health Magazine, has written a very compelling and detailed book entitled "Living Low Carb" which I review in more detail at the New Jersey Hypnotist Blog.
