Greetings!

Welcome to the latest issue of the Creative Calm newsletter. I trust this finds you feeling more like a spring chicken rather than a stuffed turkey and if not-please give me a call at (732) 714-7040.

In this issue we are going to explore a little known fact about linguistics that may help you in achieving your goals.

For those of you who practice hypnosis and other related persuasive arts, is it worth it for you to learn the skill set known as "cold reading?

Also I have a fun contest that you can take part in. Are you ready to name the bird?

Finally, the November 2009 Greater NJ Chapter of the NGH is an event that you most definitely will want to attend.

Doubt Your Doubt?

Language can be seen as the software that operates your mind. Faulty communication with others and in our own self-talk will often lead to poor results in thought, feeling and behavior. Like computer code, there are often subtleties in our linguistic patterns that can make all the difference.

One that you may not have heard of yet is that negative words have the power to actually negate themselves and positive ones can strengthen themselves.

For example, many people struggle with unhealthy doubt about their talents and abilities. However what would happen if you remembered to doubt to your doubt? Or to become intolerant of intolerance? How about avoiding avoidance?

If you habitually go to negative patterns/states like doubt, intolerance or avoidance, this technique enables you to utilize what is already present in a positive way.

Conversely, what would happen if you had faith in your faith while committing to your commitments?

This is a creative self-help tool that you can actually have some fun with.
Cold Reading Skills for Hypnotists?
New Jersey Hypnotist
It is sometimes recommended to hypnotists and others who work with the persuasive arts to learn what is known as "cold reading" skills.

For those serious students of human nature who may be interested, I have a new blog entry on why this may be a study worthy of your consideration. Visit the New Jersey Hypnotist Blog.

Name the Bird Contest
hypnobird

Those of you whom I have had the pleasure of working with during private sessions may remember that at the beginning of the hypnotic induction I had you focus your vision on the red bird at the top of the picture frame.

Awhile back someone asked me if the bird had a name and that got me to thinking that it might be fun to have a naming contest.

The entry deemed most suitable will receive a voucher for a private session (a $127 value). Or if an office visit would be impractical, like those of you who reside out other the Greater NJ area, a complimentary download of the massive Holistic E-Book Collection can be be substituted.

All contestants receive a valuable instant bonus!

To enter, go to the Contest Page and fill out the online form. Entries will be judged according to originality and creativity.

The winner will be announced on Sunday, November 29 at 9 PM via email. Let's get creative here and have some fun! http://www.njhypno.com/id93.html
