Welcome to the Creative Calm Newsletter, I trust this finds you in an absolutely magnificent place of luck, success, health and motivation.

Before we get into the current issue, let us all make sure we take a moment this Memorial Day weekend to recognize the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform. Regardless of our varied political views, we all owe a debt of gratitude to our military personnel who risk life and limb to protect all of us for little pay or recognition.

In this edition we will hear about how hypnosis is helping people to accomplish amazing performances on the golf course. Also, for a limited time you can experience the benefits of sports hypnotism at a significant discount. Lastly, I have decided to fully enter the 21st Century and get a My Space page, care to join me?
Hypnosis for Golf Makes the News!

Sports hypnotism was recognized in an article in the New York Times last week about how it helped George Zolotas of the St. John's University golf team shoot a 61 his first time out this season in N.C.A.A. competition.

Zolatos and other St. John's golfers are working with sports hypnotist Pete Solana of White Plains, NY, to improve their games.  Solana is quoted as saying that "They had blocks from previous experiences or something negative that someone else had suggested to them. I try to get them to get rid of their mental blocks. They have to want to do it and they have done it. They have had tremendous success."

The article goes on to note that hypnosis has helped these collegiate golfers remain more relaxed under pressure and better able to block out internal and external distractions.  One team member, Mike Ballo, notes "It has changed the way that I look at my golf game. It's very easy to come back from making mistakes now."

That last comment reflects something essential in all types of sports and performance hypnosis, the ability to rebound quickly from mistakes. Quite often a person will sabotage their play by dwelling on a bad shot and in doing so, make it more likely they will repeat it. Being able to remain relaxed and positive after a setback is what often separates the superior player from the rest of the pack.

Actually the concept of "mistake management" is not confined to athletics. For example, many dieters will make one bad decision in food quantity or type and then figure, "Oh well, I messed up, I might as well keep on stuffing myself," rather than getting back on track and minimizing the damage.

It is heartening to see that hypnosis counseling is becoming more mainstream and accepted amongst people who value peak performance and achievement.

For some time I had been intrigued by idea of using the online social networking service My Space, but initially thought it was the domain of teenagers with too much time on their hands. However, now its seems like celebrities of every stripe including presidential candidates are using it. My page has an added bonus for hypno-enthusiasts, a gallery of my favorite hypnotic clip art that you can download for your own fun projects.
