Final preparations have begun for the 29th Annual Training Conference in Pasadena, California during the week of July 16 - 22, 2006. As in the past,the conference will serve as a valuable resource for law enforcement officers, agencies, and community organizations. The conference will also provide an opportunity to network and share our law enforcement experiences. A copy of the 2005 training conference agenda can be downloaded from the NABNA website effective June 21, 2006, at http://www .nabna.org As we move closer to our contractual deadlines with the Pasadena Hilton, it is imperative that you make your hotel reservations without delay. The deadline to receive the NABNA hotel rate is June 25, 2006. In addition, if you have not submitted your conference registration, please register now. With the support of the DEA Los Angeles Field Division and State and Local agencies/organizations the Los Angeles Chapter has diligently prepared to make the 2006 NABNA Conference a success. Let's give them support in their efforts. The mission of NABNA is to provide law enforcement training at the collegiate and professional levels. NABNA is also an integral network for law enforcement officials throughout the United States and abroad to communicate, share investigative techniques, and experiences. More importantly, NABNA provides college scholarship awards, and community service to disadvantaged youth. Past NABNA conferences were a success due to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters like you. We respectfully request that you consider donating goods, services, or monetary contributions towards the success of the this year's conference. This is a reminder that Annual National Dues was due January 1, 2006. The following revisions to the National dues structure was adopted during the 28th Annual NABNA Conference: National dues for current financial members is $75.00 Non financial members must pay $125.00 for renewal. A $5.00 late fee will be assessed to current financial members who renew between February 1, 2006 and May 31, 2006) A $10.00 reinstatement fee will be applied for non- financial status or dues remitted after May 31, 2006. The Carrol R. Gibson Scholarship Award program is merit based for students pursuing professional fields of study in Criminal Justice. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. The scholarship may be used at any institution to defray the cost of tuition, fees, supplies or room and board. The selection will be based on the following criteria:
An objective of NABNA is to provide college scholarship awards and serve as mentors to disadvantaged youth. Therefore, contributions to our scholarship fund is appreciated and tax deductible. The NABNA Annual National Executive Board Meetings will be called to order on July 18 and 20, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. during the NABNA Training Conference. As part of the agenda, proposed amendments to the National Constitution and By-Laws will be presented for approval by the body. The 29th Annual NABNA conference is almost here and the Los Angeles Chapter would like your assistance. We will be mailing some of you 50 raffle tickets to sell. The tickets are only $1.00 each and the Prizes are 3rd prize a $25.00 restaurant Certificate, 2nd prize is a Emerson CQC-7A BYS Knife, and the Top Prize is a Pelican Travel Case on Wheels value at $395.00 The tickets will not specify, but the raffle will be held on July 13, 2006. Simply mail the top portion of the tickets and money in the self address envelope by July 7th, it should reach us by then. The winner will be announced on the NABNA website.
