Greetings!

Most regional championship regattas are only a week or 2 away. The late fees might have kicked in but your registration and attendence is still important to the success of these events. Don't miss out on the fun the hosts clubs have planned for you.

The membership feedback from the recent annoucement of a Melges hull experiment had been hugely positive.

Don't forget to order your printed copy of the REPORTER magazine. At last years Annual Membership meeting there was a request to provide a printed copy of the REPORTER for a small donation to the NCESA Foundation.

Speaking of the NCESA Foundation - please review this new program and all that it has to offer our members and their clubs. This is an exciting opportunity to expand and grow E-Scow fleets accross the county. Read about the Foundation Introduction

Not to be left out - the NCESA is on Facebook and Twitter. The last article has some links.

Sincerely,

The NCESA Championships at Torch Lake

Torch Lake Capsize

Now we wouldn't want to wish a capsize on anyone, but if it happens on Torch Lake you just might enjoy it!

The goal of the NCESA is to have 70 E-scows on the starting line. I know many of you wait until the last days to register for the regatta. The deadline is approaching - please take a minute to complete your registration now. While you are at it - call some fellow sailors and encourage them to attend. The National Championship regatta is a great opportunity to stay in touch with long time friends of the Class. Your friends will miss you if you aren't there.

I always loved what my friend Bill Mattison would say about going to a Championship regatta - "you can't be the Champion if you don't go". He would say this every year until he retired from sailing at over 80 years of age.

The regatta co-chairs, Kevin Malone & Craig Hupp, have prepared a premier event guaranteed to be one of the best E Nationals ever.

Lake Hopatcong Yacht club.

August 4th through Saturday August 6th, with a practice race(s) scheduled for Wednesday August 3rd, weather permitting.

Over the past few years with the conversion to the new asymmetric kite, as well as the IHSF boats we have experienced steady fleet growth in the ECESA region and we hope to have close to 40 boats attending the regatta. As part of the regatta planning process we are encouraging boats to pre-register as soon as possible so that we can make the logistical arrangements to make this regatta as effortless and smooth as possible for our participants. We have also had some great sponsor's come on board and will be having a raffle Friday night for various items including a Velocitek ProStart and a new North Kite.

As always, we will do our best to house any sailors whom request it based on first come first served based on the date of registration. Pre-Registration is currently open and the last day for early registration is July 31st. As long as you are a current member of the NCESA, you do not have to pay the event fee at the time of registration.
