Registration for Oshkosh
ILYA Championship
LEHYC Down Bay Regatta
Greetings!

The Oshkosh Yacht Club is hard at work to prepare for the National Championships. All your E-Scow friends are expecting to see you and renew old acquaintances. It is a must that you make plans to attend and bring others from your local fleet to make this a big event.

It has been a busy summer and many of you are behind, just as I am. For all of you I have good news - the National regatta late fee has been postponed  to the end of August! See below about what is expected and how things will be handled.

There are a number of links below for regatta reports. Check them out to see how your fellow sailors are doing this summer.

Sincerely,

Lon Schoor

Register for the NCESA National Championship regatta by the end of August to avoid a $50 late fee. There is no late fee for boats with skippers 25 years or younger and the entry fee for these younger skippers is only $50.

Review the Notice of Race and change your plans if this event wasn't on your schedule!

I encourage you to register now even if you are not ready to pay until you arrive at the regatta site. We can take you check at Oshkosh and you will not be charged the late fee if you have registered by the end of August.

If you do not know your crew information or it is still a little unsettled as to who can make the regatta to sail with you - we can also complete that information when you arrive at Oshkosh.

Check out this LINK to see who has registered for the regatta already.

Now go to REGISTER NOW to get your yacht registered for the National Championship regatta.

Oshkosh has a wonderful new facility and their members are ready to rollout the red carpet.

ILYA Championship Results

Tom Burton and crew of Bruce Martinson, Andy Ferguson, and Martha Morgan were just way better than the other 39 E-Scow teams to win this years ILYA Championship regatta.

I think the photo to the right is Tom Burton (M-9) and Eric Bowers (M-11) on a nice downwind leg all by themselves in the lead.

The ILYA also had Sailgroove provide video for the regatta and I have included a number of links for reports of the racing and video.

There wasn't anything I could add to the fine ILYA reports so I put together a little WHAT-IF scenario - how would the regatta have looked if it ended after the first mark rounding of each race. There were 7 races and they all counted for the regatta. I did not have data for race number 3 but I did score the other six races pretending it was a one leg race.  Check out the WHAT-IF results below.

21 yachts showed up to see Bobby Koar best them all, but as you can see from the totals, there were some tight hard fought battles for second and sixth.
