Greetings!
We have been working with Fulton Systems for a few years.  Fulton's offerings have been very well received by many mills.  If you are looking to conserve energy costs, Fulton is the right place to look for help.  We have highlighted products that we feel you will find of interest.
thermocompressor
Thermocompressor

A device utilizing high pressure steam to entrain steam at lower pressures and discharge the mixture at intermediate pressure.  The basic thermocompressor consists of a body, diffuser, nozzle, spindle, and controlled diaphragm actuator.  Designed to operate above atmospheric pressures.

As paper machines speed up, more blow through steam is required to evacuate condensate from the dryers.  Thermocompressors provide the mechanism to recycle this blow through steam.  The recycled steam is returned to the steam header, thereby optimizing energy efficiency.  In the process, complete system flexibility is achieved by allowing each dryer section to operate independently of other sections.  Recirculating steam reduces steam loss to the heat exchanger or atmosphere.  Allows minimum pressure in all dryers.  When drying capabilities exceed demands, this reduces the need and frequency of shutting of dryers.

Units supplied in modular form with equipment mounted on a structural frame base.  The separator tank receives the two-phase mixture of blowthrough steam and condensate from the dryer section.  Internal baffling combined with conservative fluid velocities, separates the two-phase flow.  The steam exits the separator and is made available to the process.  The condensate level in the tank is automatically controlled through a condensate pump and level valve to maintain constant level conditions in the tank.

Eliminates expensive field assembly.  All equipment supplied is custom engineered and selected to meet specific machine needs.  Minimum field effort required for installation.  Units are ready for service after removing all shipping braces, connecting process piping and supplying electrical power to the pump.  A wide variety of OEM components are available to meet individual needs and preferences.

Excess superheat can impair dryer & steam box performance, increase maintenance costs and violate equipment temperature limits.  Our experience with the two basic designs of Desuperheaters.

An absorption type Desuperheater is a tool for the papermaking process that reduces superheated steam temperatures to saturated steam temperatures.  It is designed to thoroughly mix steam and condensate using a liquid spray nozzle and mist eliminator pad.

Eliminating superheat in dryers means better overall heat transfer efficiency and increased steam joint seal life.  Mist eliminator pad minimizes condensate carryover assuring dry steam.  No significant pressure line loss is experienced as steam passes through the unit.  Excellent applications for steam showers where water droplet control is so critical.  Simple control strategies customized for each application.  May be installed in horizontal or vertical pipe run.  Fulton Systems has over 1500 proven quality installations.

Where Does Your Machine Stand?

Let Fulton tell you where you stand vs. other machines making similar grades around the world. Schedule a dryer system audit.

With ever increasing energy costs, tonnage increases, quality and grade changes, periodic audits of steam and condensate systems are an aide in meeting these challenges. A comprehensive study or audit of the steam and condensate system includes:

  • Documentation of mill objectives, current equipment and controls and production data.
  • On-machine data collection to determine the each components performance.
  • An analysis of the data collected and a comparison of key performance parameters to industry standards.
  • Specific recommendations for improvements.

Utilizing our proprietary computer modeling, Fulton Systems provides comprehensive reporting of paper machine drying efficiencies and comparison to industry standards. Our reports are individually generated specifically for each papermachine.
