Prayer

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." (Matthew 7:24-27)

This passage of Scripture reminds us how important it is to have a strong foundation.  One of the most critical elements is for a new Christian to develop good habits; habits that will encourge growth and a deeper relationship with God.

1. Talk to the person about the importance of meeting with God each day. Share how important prayer has been in your life.

2. Discuss the important points from the lesson.

3. Ask him how things are going.  Does he have any struggles, questions, decisions, new discoveries, or victories he would like to share?

4. Pray together.
