Forty Under 40 Nominations

Columbus Business First is accepting nominations for the Forty Under 40 award, which recognizes young "movers and shakers" in the community. Nominees will be judged on their outstanding career achievements and community service impact. Nominations are due March 2.

YMCA Corporate Challenge

The YMCA Downtown sponsors the YMCA Corporate Challenge in which employees of local businesses come together to compete in sports and recreational events, including billiards, table tennis, basketball, darts, golf, volleyball, bowling and more. This is an excellent opportunity for companies to develop camaraderie and sportsmanship while raising funds for the People Helping People Campaign. The next event is a basketball tournament on March 1 - 3 at The Hoop (USA Sports Academy). All teams must consist of four men and four women from the company, and the registration deadline is February 20. Black History Month

Now through February 29; Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Saturday - Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The Ohio Statehouse
There is a variety of exhibits and special events happening throughout the month in honor of Black History Month. Check out a special K - third grade student art exhibit, Rosa Parks: The Power of One, with student works expressing how they would change the world for the better. On Tuesdays, living history programs will be presented in the Museum Gallery; visitors will meet first-person interpreters of prominent African-American figures in U.S. history (Harriet Tubman on February 7; Phyllis Wheatley on February 14; Rise and Ride: The Freedom Rider's Story on February 21; and George Washington Williams on February 28). On Wednesdays, enjoy musical performances from noon - 1 p.m. in the Crypt, featuring musical groups celebrating the legacy of music rooted in the African-American experience. Wednesdays also feature a special soul food menu in the Capitol Cafe. Throughout the month, enjoy special tours of the George Washington Williams Memorial, a tribute to Ohio's first African-American legislator. http://www.ohiostatehouse.org

Pecha Kucha Columbus

Columbus Museum of Art
This event celebrates Pecha Kucha Columbus' fifth anniversary. Each speaker will follow the international Pecha Kucha format of showing 20 images and speaking about each image for 20 seconds. Guests will have access to CMA's galleries throughout the evening; the musical act Coal Fired Bicycle will perform during intermission. Food will be available from local food trucks and indoor food vendors; cash bar will be available. Suggested donation is $2 per person. Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show
