Chamber Member Profile
Massage Therapy Clinic

Mavis Brown opened the Massage Therapy Clinic in Fort Nelson on November 3, 1987 (nearly 25 years ago) after completing the two year training at an accredited Massage Therapy College in Vancouver, which gave her the title of Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) of B.C. This training includes the assessment and treatment of numerous pathologies. There are many massage techniques used by RMT's such as muscle energy, cranio-sacral therapy, therapeutic massage of both deep tissue or light pressure to produce a customized treatment plan for each patient. All systems of the patient's body including the nervous, skeletal, muscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic, digestive systems are affected. This type of therapy improves the health and wellbeing of patients as well as treating injures which relieves pain. The Massage Therapy field is ever expanding as more knowledge is introduced to build upon what is already known. There is no end to the learning, and RMT's are required to upgrade on a regular basis to maintain their license. The Massage Therapy Clinic is open from Wednesday to Saturday and the answering machine is available 24/7 to collect inquires. Please call or fax (250) 774-6769.
Mavis Brown has been a Chamber of Commerce member since opening the clinic in 1987.
