Dear JABBERS:

I was first introduced to JustAskBoo (JAB) four years ago, so you can imagine how I excited I am to be a part of the team! Once a week, I'll be delivering you the latest referrals, requests and recommendations from fellow JABBERS who live, work and play in the northern half of Miami and the Beaches.

When I first visited Miami 11 years ago, I knew this place was home. Of course, the idea came easily after a truly indulgent four-day vacation in South Beach, but I moved here one year later and have made myself quite comfortable in The Magic City. Miami North is a unique community that's taken on a life of its own. In the decade that I've lived here, I've seen our mainstays in Aventura and Bal Harbour continue to flourish, while areas like Lincoln Road, Midtown, the Upper East Side, and Wynwood have transformed into shopping, dining, and cultural hotbeds. With so many great resources available to us, it's a shame to keep them a secret. That's why JAB is here - to help you navigate your community and all of the wonder it holds.

I know you will enjoy JAB as much as I do and will use it often, and most importantly, I hope you'll help me spread the word!

Thanks and Happy JABBING!

Chae Haile

Managing Editor, JustAskBoo Miami North

We are looking for a sharp, savvy, motivated communication or marketing major to help support our marketing efforts at JAB. A student at FIU or UM is ideal, as close proximity to our Miami team is important. 10 Family-Friendly Things to Do on Miami Beach

We live in paradise, but life and logistics get in the way. We contacted the expert, Munchkin Fun, to bring you the best beach activities. Celebrate your city with their top 10 Miami Beach picks.

  1. Picnic at the Park. A blanket, lunch and some toys make a perfect morning at South Pointe Park.
  2.  Hit the beach. Sand in your toes & munchkins in the water.
  3. Splash around. Flamingo Park offers up fountains, sprinklers and hours of fun.
  4. Browse the Botanical Gardens. This hidden (and free!) garden oasis is just the right size for little ones.
  5. Get bookish. Check out weekly storytimes and regular special events at Miami Beach's Main Library.
  6. Duck Tours. It's loud, bold and surprisingly fun.
  7. Watch a Wallcast. Enjoy an al fresco screening on the New World Symphony's 7000-square-foot screen.
  8. Lunch on Lincoln. People watching, doggie petting and loads of ice cream options.
  9. Head North. North Shore Park  & Youth Center is loaded with munchkin delights.
  10. Bike the boardwalk. Bike, skate, walk, run or stroll up 40 blocks of beauty.

Stay tuned for more ideas from Munchkin Fun.*
