Dear JABBERS: Can you believe summer is almost over? I hope yours has been fun, exciting, and relaxing.

Cubs Game
Zameks at Cubs Game, Chicago

Mine has been busy, but a lot of fun. First, I am happy to report that I survived sleep-away camp! Oh - and as for my daughter - she loved it and wants to return next year! Even more surprisingly, my family of four not only survived, but thoroughly enjoyed a three-week, 3,000 mile road trip adventure to Chicago and back. The trip included camp, a Cubs Game, time with friends and family in Georgia, North Carolina and my birth city of Cincinnati, lunch at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, visits with Team JAB Chicago and Team JAB Atlanta, and a very special stop in Music City to meet the only other human being on the planet who shares my husband's name: Paul Zamek. And, no Zamek family trip would be complete without a series of minor mishaps along the way - the perfect complement to our Griswold "Vacation."

Despite a wonderful adventure filled with quality family time and hilarious moments that will surely be part of Zamek family lore, "home sweet home" has taken on a whole new meaning. After visiting eight states and driving 3,000 miles, I could not be happier to be home. I look forward to relaxing, reconnecting with our local JABBERS and watching the Olympics.

Happy summer and Happy JABBING!

-Boo

Flipping for a Local Gymnast
From Team JAB
Gymnast

Here at Team JAB we like to celebrate our little family's accomplishments. This time, we're turning our spotlight on Kathy Procce and her eight-year-old daughter, Nicole. Kathy is one of our "money girls" (accounting department) at JAB and she is also a very proud mom. Nicole is an outstanding competitive gymnast with her eyes on the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. NBC 6 recently took notice and featured Nicole on its nightly newscast. To watch Nicole's inspiring story, click HERE. Congratulations Kathy, Nicole and the Procce/Del Valle Family!

Marble Madness
From Tania Paredes :  REPLY
My floors, shower, wall and sink are a gray marble. Lately the marble is starting to look dull and brown so I am seeking an honest and reliable company or person to polish it. English or Spanish speaking vendors are fine. Your suggestions will be very helpful.

It Takes a Village
From Team JAB Melanie
Sometimes it really does take a village. Here at JAB, we love sharing stories that showcase the generosity and selflessness of others. When Melanie Gomez, an exceptional little girl who was born without eyes, was struggling to get the services that could help her thrive, a few amazing people and organizations stepped in to make it happen. When Melanie desperately needed to learn Braille, the Law Offices of Matthew W. Dietz, P.L. took on her case pro bono and made sure she received Braille and cane services in the public school system. Then the National Federation for the Blind stepped in and provided legal and expert services to the family to ensure she continues in a Braille program this school year. The help for Melanie didn't stop there! A Florida-based company, Digital Risk, led by Jeffrey Taylor, paid for Melanie and her mom to attend an intensive summer camp in Maryland for families in similar situations. With the support of so many people and the unwavering commitment of Melanie's family who fought for her every step of the way, Melanie is now enjoying a happy and healthy life - one filled with riding bikes and playing piano! A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in this touching story.

Sweet Dreams
From Debra Klein:  REPLY
I'm in the market for a new high end mattress and I would love a great recommendation. In my research I've discovered the Sleep Number beds, which look amazing, but I would love your thoughts on it if you own one. Thank you!

Gotta Get a Gate
From Tania Paredes :  REPLY
I need to replace the wood gate in the front and side of my house with an aluminum one. Do you have a company that you recommend? Thanks for your help!

Make Over My Life
From Reyni Sanz:  REPLY
I am thinking about embarking on a new career path based on my love of style and fashion. Beauty school seems like a great fit but I am looking to you, JABBERS, for advice. Has anyone been to beauty school? If so, what advice do you have? What schools do you recommend? I thank you in advance for your feedback!
