Employer-Led CPD Research Focus |
On 12 June we supported a membership professional-led focus group, facilitated by the Tomorrow Project.
This dedicated event focused on employer-led continuing professional development (CPD).
Key issues included the validation of new and informal types of CPD, encouraging more social forms of CPD, finding ways for individuals to secure career progression through CPD, and bridging employer interests in job-specific skills and the interests of regulators and institutes in maintaining professional standards.
You can keep up with progress on this project and other membership sector-led research by visiting the new Research Section of the MemberWise website.

MAP Framework 'Road-Test' Results |
On 22 June 24 representatives met at the Trade Association Forum (TAF) headquarters to road-test our new Membership and Association Professional (MAP) framework.
Next stop - 'Early Adopter' Case Studies!
Senior membership professionals and CEOs representing organisations including MENSA, Association for Consultancy and Engineering, Biochemical Society and the Association of Accounting Technicians took part in a 'hands on' session designed to user-test the effectiveness and inclusiveness of the framework.
The outcome of the session was that the framework needed further development, however the consensus was that the resource could prove extremely useful for both membership organisations and associations looking to develop/grow.
It was also agreed that the resource would be useful for individuals looking to quality assure their own individual work.
The session was observed by a representative of the UK Department of Business, Innoviation and Skills (BIS) and we are pleased that the project continues to gather momentum and support.
The MAP project is a joint-collaboration with the Professionalism Group and next steps include refining the resource further and working with 5 case study organisations. If you would like to register an interest in becoming one of our early-adopter case studies please Contact Us.

And finally... |
How much data do you think is created on the web every minute?
As membership organisations and associations we work with and create a lot of data, however this amount is dwarfed by the following statistics:
- 2 million searchs take place on Google - The mobile web welcomes 217 new users - 34,722 organisations/brands receive 'Likes'
- 47,000 mobile 'Apps' are downloaded - 100,000 Tweets are published
Full Info Graphic...
We think this would make a great 'filler' slide to spice-up any membership-related presentation - Gotty will certainly be using it at some point! |
We are always looking to develop and improve this e-update so if you would like to submit ideas/recommendations or enquire about sponsoring the next issue please get in-touch!
Yours Sincerely,
Richard Gott Founder The MemberWise Network
