Blending Image Analysis Data Sets
We are excited to announce that our Senior Chemist, Eric Olson, has recently published an article in the Journal of Validation Technology [Winter 2011], entitled Blending of Log Normal Particle Size Distribution Data from Multiple Image Analyses into a Single Continuous Data Set.  He writes, "Image analysis is one method by which particle size may be measured.  In many cases, it

is considered the 'gold standard' of particle size measurement and  is often used to verify the results of other techniques."  This paper describes a methodology by which data from multiple image analyses that used different operational parameters are exported from the instrument into a suitable spreadsheet.  The data are then blended into a useful continuous particle size distribution with optimal accuracy.  Click here to read full content.

Newest DSC Capability

Low Temperature Accessory

PTL's DSC 200 F3 Maia®, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, now has the capability to allow for temperatures down to -150°C. PTL recently acquired Netzsch's liquid nitrogen cooling system, which extends the testing range from 600°C down to -150°C (previously -35°C). PTL is excited about this increased ability to better serve our clients. Per Bill Kopesky, VP of Analytical Services, "We were seeing an increase in our clients request for freezing point suppression or much lower temperature ranges than before. Now we can easily satisfy these requests." Contact us to discuss how this new capability can improve your thermal needs.
