Bike Lanes Officially Added to US 421
They are striped! No need to ride the sidewalk on your way back from a Castleford Loop. No need compete with motorists for the full lane on your way to town from New Market; you have your own now. Great work to the BAC members who were instrumental in organizing the meeting between local officials and DOT to make this happen. Thanks to everyone who were involved. Lets keep things like this happening by continuing to attend meetings and through voicing public comments.

Rocky Knob Phase I, II, and III now complete!

On August 4, the 'Ol Hoss Trail was officially opened to the top of Rocky Knob Mountain, bringing a close to over 2 years of trail work. BAC has been instrumental in the volunteer efforts that have lead to this. Thank you to all of the volunteers who have contributed. More great things are on the way for the park. Stay tuned to the Rocky Knob Blog for all the latest info.

2nd Annual Cyclo.Via: Bigger, Better
On June 24, we CLOSED THE STREETS (Howard, Depot, Rivers) for the second year in a row, and had a great celebration of Human Powered Fun. This year, visitors were treated to a fantastic BMX stunt show among other activities. We are already making plans for next year's event! Let us know if you want to get involved.
BAC Volunteers Help with BSG 2012
Helping support over 700 riders on the busy Blue Ridge Parkway takes some effort, and at this year's BAC-supported Aide Station of the Blood, Sweat, & Gears, we had a record number of volunteers. BAC annually supports this first stop at the Grandview Overlook. This year, we received praise from BSG Directors as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway staff for our organization and coordination of the support. Thanks to all of those who came out!
