BAC to Sponsor BSG Aide Station
Blood, Sweat, & Gears is just around the corner (June 23), and for the the third straight year, BAC will sponsor Aide Station # 1 of this High Country Tradition. We'll be on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Grandview Overlook. This is a really a fun time to hang out in a beautiful place and help the riders out early in the event. We need volunteers from our members. Please email info@booneareacyclists.com and tell us you'd like to help out. Take a look at some photos from last year.
Boone is Highlighted in Velo Magazine
The Boone Area has been featured as a top Destination for cycling in the Velo Magazine's Ultimate Ride Guide. The top routes that were highlighted include the Viaduct loop (Road) and Rocky Knob Park (Mountain). Our community was highlighted by saying "...it can cater to any of your cycling desires." Review a scanned version of the article, which appears on page 72 of the full edition. Great Stuff!

Spring Bike Rally - Great Fun.

On April 15 we had a great turnout of kids and adults for the BAC/App State Cycling Team Spring Bike Rally. Thanks to the App State Team for their participation and leadership in the event. This year we wrapped up the event with an excellent group ride.  Thanks also to Boone Bike and Magic Cycles for their expertise in checking bikes for safety, removing training wheels, and for just being cool.

Rocky Knob Fest
On April 28, nearly 100 individuals attended the Rocky Knob Fest. The big celebration was the opening of NEW Trails and NEW Skills Areas. The Fest included guided tours, clinics, food, and great giveaways. Thanks to the many sponsors of the events, and most importantly all of the volunteers who have contributed time to making Rocky Knob Park such a special place. To date, over 3100 volunteer hours have been recorded. Full Recap
