Greetings!

I recently had the honour of speaking at our volunteer appreciation evening. It had been a long day and I felt tired, but being at that event was wonderfully energising.

We have over eighty active volunteers engaged in helping us deliver school programs, taking surveys (in the rain-sorry!) dropping off brochures, making telephone calls, researching and helping in the library, participating at special events not to mention serving as museum Trustees.

In fact we couldn't function without our volunteers. Witnessing their enthusiasm and passion on a daily basis is one of the great perks of working at the VMM. They are a constant reminder of the value in and values of our museum and they make me proud to work here.

I dedicate this issue of Above Board to them.

Sincerely,

Simon Robinson
